Promoting sustainable development in developing countries
represents an ambitious, broad and complex challenge. One of the
major difficulties encountered is the huge task of convincing
all stakeholders in the value chain to adopt an improved and
more efficient production model (that might require more
investments) and look at long term return on investment in an
economy where stability might not be totally guaranteed.
However difficult this might be, promoting Sustainable
Development is important and achievable. If we should compare
the adverse effect of not taking the decisive step now against
the cost of doing so; we will all agree that it is far more
economical to thread the path of Sustainable Development.
The solution to achieving sustainable development lies in the “WILL”.
The Will to prioritize Social Development and promote the values
it adds to the economy. |
